AFABW Joins PFANA at Unity, Peace & Freedom Festival
On Saturday Oct 26th, 2024 – At the Warner Center Park in Woodland Hills, California, Artists for a Better World took part in the Unity, Peace & Freedom Festival, produced by AFABW Celebrity Advisory Board Member, Richie Onori, under the Banner of his group: People for a New America (PFANA)
Richie states:
“Due to growing unrest and more division than our country has ever faced, we have an opportunity to preclude future events by unifying in a grassroots movement like never before.
“A strong and diverse grassroots movement entwined with a celebrity music-driven revival has a very solid predictable outcome in bringing about America’s long sought desire – ‘Change!’
“Music and gathering all the races & religions is the answer and is the universal solvent to calm the waters & bring back the power of the people to the common man and with common sense. Now is the time!”
AFABW member Lynda Hubbard took a position on the Board of PFANA and helped with some of the promotion and PR.
Manning our booth were AFABW President, Barbara Cordova, along with members Becky Mate, Rob Oliver, Andrea Zastawny and John Hambright.
The event included an all–star cast of Classic Rock bands that included: The Sweet, The Main Ingredient, Iron Butterfly, The Chambers Brothers, Pink Floyd Songs, Richie’s original rock band, The Blues Angels, and other individual acts.
There were also several vendors of all types, from Artists to Health advocates and others.
AFABW made many new contacts with like-minded artists who want to work together to create a better world. Barbara even got a good line in with the representatives of Iron Butterfly, and another popular visual artist from Nigeria who runs a collective art gallery there.
Member Carmelita Pittman was also there and interviewed Iron Butterfly members for her TV Show as well as Barbara Cordova.
Barbara and Becky also did interviews with the Heart of Hollywood online Magazine.
Members handed out 225 Human Rights books, along with an AFABW brochure in each, and gave out over 100 newsletters and promotional post cards.
Many attendees admired the uplifting art at our booth, and Becky Mate raised funds for AFABW with the sale of several cute key chains she brought.
AFABW will continue to work with PFANA in the future on our common purpose of creating a better world through aesthetics and social betterment.
