AFABW Attracts a Variety of Artists to Local Meeting at the Sunland Mission

On Saturday, July 27, 2024, the AFABW LA Chapter held a meeting in true artistic style with not only updates on activities and future plans for the group – but each artist in attendance getting to share their art, music, poetry and even some magic!

It started out with a pot-luck dinner while artists feasted on the art in the room and networked with one another.

And then the General meeting started where AFABW Chapter Director Lallah Rowe had each artist introduce themselves and their art form. AFABW President Barbara Cordova gave an overview of the group and talked about the benefits of being a member. She also talked about how we support social betterment campaigns such as The Way to Happiness – and showed a video of how artists put their works on the cover and distribute the books thus creating more peace in society.

Lallah then announced upcoming events we will participate in such as National Night out in Tujunga, California, on August 6th, where we will have a booth with arts activities for kids – and will hand out The Way to Happiness and Truth about Drugs books. This is always a great activity and we have validated our local police with special poems presented to them for their service.

And then the show began where music, poetry and even magic was performed live. Artists love to share their talents with others and the room was certainly uplifted with all the inspirational messages. The aesthetics brought people together and new friendships were made as well as those who want to become members and be part of the movement to create a better world!
